3D animation and visual effects

Although visually and technically dated, this TV spot is a favorite of mine because it is my first serious 3D visual effects work and serves me as a reminder in my ever-present pursuit of excellence. For the shot with the moving bronze statue of Cyril, I went through the entire process - from taking the light probe and texture samples during the shoot, to modeling, texturing, rigging, animation and look development, to the final render. And thanks to the inspiring atmosphere created by producers and directors Milko Lazarov, Lachezar Avramov and Hristo Zhivkov, and their trust in me, I had the confidence to go above and beyond.

For this sequence, I had to create a digital replica of the actual prop "spaceship" that Bowerick Wowbagger comes out of. Since a digital spaceship was not originally planned, and the decision for it came later, I did not have a light/reflection probe from the set. Luckily the prop spaceship was somewhat reflective and I decided to use it itself as a light/reflection source for the digital one. It wasn't the perfect solution, as the surface of the actual prop wasn't the ideal mirror sphere, but for the purposes of this parody video it was sufficient.
